Rejuvenate your Skin and Restore Hair Naturally

What is PRF?

Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a treatment using components of your own blood to restore your natural, rejuvenated appearance. It can be used in many different ways to restore your skin and hair. PRF contains high numbers of platelets and white blood cells, which are rich in growth factors that are needed for hair and skin rejuvenation. Because PRF does not include any additives or anticoagulants, it forms a fibrin scaffold after injection that is capable of releasing growth factors for up to several weeks after treatment. This means that after you are treated in the office, your body is busy rebuilding and restoring tissue for weeks!

What does PRF treatment entail?

The area to be treated will be anesthetized with topical or injectable anesthesia. Blood will be collected from your arm just like for a lab draw, so it’s important to prepare for your visit by maintaining adequate hydration for 72 hours prior to your visit. The tubes will be spun to separate the platelet rich fibrin from the red blood cells, and the fibrin will be injected for regenerative procedures.

What can PRF be used for?

PRF can be used for skin regeneration, hair growth, and to accelerate tissue healing. If you’ve recently acquired a scar, you may want to consider a microneedling treatment with PRF. Invested in hair transplant surgery? Maintain your results with PRF treatments.

Does treatment hurt?

The treatment area or injection site is numbed with prescription strength numbing medication prior to injection with PRF. Vibration distraction is also used during treatment.

How often do I need PRF?

Best results are obtained by completing a series of at least 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. After that, maintain your results with a treatment every 6-12 months.

What is the downtime?

Prepare for your appointment by avoiding alcohol and any non prescribed blood thinners. Hydrate for 72 hours prior to your appointment and eat a meal so you are not on an empty stomach. Remember, anytime the skin integrity is disrupted by an injection, bruising, swelling, or infection are risks.

What is the difference between PRP and PRF?

PRF is obtained by using a slower and shorter spin than PRP, which allows your blood to form a fibrin matrix composed of white blood cells and platelets that allows for a slower release of growth factors than PRP therapy.

How do I maximize my results after treatment?

  • Avoiding smoking, which delays wound healing and introduces toxins to the environment, is a must after treatment. Maintain a well balanced diet and remember to rehydrate.
  • For hair restoration, take a warm shower immediately after treatment to increase blood flow to the scalp. Use BeautySpring by the Wellspring Hair Regrowth System which is a 3 step system complete with sulfate free shampoo & conditioner and Rapid Growth Serum.
  • For skin rejuvenation, use medical grade skincare including a hyaluronic acid and growth factor serum. Protect your skin with a physical sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Avoid vigorous physical activity for 24-72 hours.
